Infrastructure Solutions for Safe Grids and Networks

Infrastructure

Infrastructure solutions need long-lasting materials, smart systems, and reliable partners if they are to be fit for the future. With this in mind, SIMONA will be showcasing innovative plastic solutions for water, energy, and communication infrastructure at IFAT 2026 – solutions that are highly practical, scalable, and sustainable.

Additive manufacturing / Engineering expertise

3D Printing: Unlocking New Opportunities for Large Dimensions

With additive manufacturing, SIMONA is opening up new opportunities for large-scale plastic fittings in infrastructure, without compromising on pressure resistance. For the first time, 3D printing, i.e., additive manufacturing, can be used to make complex large-format components that deliver the same level of mechanical performance as with conventional production methods. Near-net-shape components with a high degree of material efficiency reduce the need for reworking, use fewer materials and less energy, and help to shrink carbon footprints – while maintaining full technical performance.

Our 3D-printed fittings offer all this:

  • Large component dimensions with industrial-grade pressure resistance
  • Material-efficient design thanks to near-net-shape manufacturing and integrated functions
  • Reduced material use and smaller carbon footprints
  • Value for money, even with small and medium-sized production runs

SIMONA® Pipe System Control

Smart systems for safe grids and networks

SIMONA® Pipe System Control (PSC) – Safety in Pipeline Networks

Pipe System Control (PSC) from SIMONA is a smart pipe system with integrated leakage monitoring for particularly sensitive applications such as in protected areas for drinking water. Any damage is detected early and reported immediately. The digital reporting system allows damage to be pinpointed precisely, enabling operators to react quickly, carry out targeted repairs, and keep any leaking media to a minimum. PSC increases operational safety and reliability and makes a significant contribution to protecting the environment, resources, and infrastructure.

SIMONA PSC helps network operators and planners in many different ways:

  • Less need for earthworks thanks to highly accurate fault detection
  • Faster repairs
  • Lower consequential costs
  • Protection for sensitive soils
  • Integrated shaft/manhole monitoring

Cable protection for energy and power grids

A Range of Connection Solutions for a Perfectly Coordinated System

The expansion and upgrading of energy and power grids is placing high demands on cable protection systems and the connection technology they use. SIMONA offers cable protection as an integrated system, from the cable itself and matching connection technology through to accessories. Whether they will need push-fit, screw, or weld connections, pipes are always joined in the manner that is best suited to the specific application, installation situation, and project requirements. Innovative solutions such as our SIMOClearWeld technology and supplementary accessories from our subsidiary SIMONA Electroplast combine to create economical, safe, and future-proof cable protection solutions all from a single source.

Our connection solutions offer all this:

  • Compatibility with all standard connection technologies, i.e., push-fit, screw, and weld connections
  • Innovative welding thanks to SIMOClearWeld technology
  • Complete systems including accessories and protective sheets
  • Designed to serve the expanding market of energy and power grid infrastructure
